Our Story

Piñatta was started in 2020 by Emilio and Santiago Guerrero, two brothers from Chicago with a Mexican-American background. After many years working as professionals in food and beverage, they decided to start our their concept revolving around traditional and Indigenous food practices in Mexico.

First they started with their Habanero Hibiscus Hot Sauce made by fermenting these traditional flavors with Koji Rice, an ingredient known for its umami flavor and creamy texture. Due to popular demand, they created a whole line of different Hot Sauces as well as Vinegars and Amino Sauces made out of food byproduct from the Hot Sauce process.
